My company(Flowserve Pumps)hired Big Pappa's to cater bbq/Thanksgiving lunch for us today, and I must say that myself and a lot of the coworkers were very content with the food. Smoked turkey and ham was very flavorful and juicy. All the sides!
What's up foodies ? Big Pappas Smokehouse on Market Street in East Baytown is sending smoke signals for sure. That Bix Tex taco was killer the other day for breakfast. Yes, they have breakfast as well as their tasty bbq for lunch and supper. Stop by and grab a plate. The friendly staff will be glad to hook you up. Till we eat again.
I have traveled to and through Baytown quite a bit for work, and I didn't even realize this place existed until it was recommended to me. The interior has plenty of seating, and plenty of room for a line, and with bbq this good there is often a line. That being said, I was incredibly impressed with how quickly the food came out. Also, we had a large group, and the cashier took down our orders with pen and pencil and there wasn't one mistake when the food came out. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and attentive. The bbq is delicious. I was going to get a pick-2 plate with brisket and sausage, but then I saw the Pachon Baked potato that already had brisket and sausage on it, and I would definitely recommend it. Some tips: Get a 3 Meat Plate to try a variety, or try one of their baked potatoes. All of their sides are good, but try their "crazy beans." There is extra bbq sauce on the table, and I liked the extra kick the "spicy" bottle provided. Lastly, ask for a to-go box, because odds are, with these portions, you're going to need it Cheers!!
On my next trip to Big Pappa's, I seriously need to take a ruler to lay next to the Pachon Potato. It's that big. The bonus to taking your leftovers home. The next day, the smokiness of the brisket and sausage have soaked into the rest of the ingredients, and it's even better! On my first trip, I had the queso with the brisket, and there must have been a pound of meat in the bowl. Big Pappa will be seeing me again soon!
Bbq was great, had brisket and chicken. Love the old building. Want to come back and try the breakfast with barbacoa!
The big Tex taco in the morning.... Sheesh this thing is truly the best breakfast taco I've ever indulged in. Brisket, bacon, smoked potatoes, beans and either scrambled or over easy egg. I go with the over easy. I could eat this thing every day. The lunch plates all delicious. I've eaten here probably 30 times and it's never disappointed me.
This place has the best BBQ I have ever had! The brisket is amazing!!!! Service was also incredible, very polite and attentive. They also service breakfast which looks good too. Wish they were closer to my neck of the woods. You will not be disappointed.
